Conor Gallagher had a rather impressive loan stint with West Bromwich Albion, with the 21-year-old going on to make 32 appearances for the Baggies across all competitions. While he was unable to help his side retain their place in the Premier League, the Chelsea loanee was one of their most vital players — under both coaches, Slaven Bilić and Sam Allardyce — and he has shown tremendous growth over the past year.

West Brom decided to recognize Gallagher’s contributions by awarding him with their Young Player of the Season award. Congrats, Conor! Notable past winners of this award include the likes of Sam Field, Rekeem Harper and Dara O’Shea. Gallagher himself had won Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year in 2019.

Gallagher, who has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists this season, is expected to be a part of Chelsea’s preseason for next season, and is one of the frontrunners to be part of the next generation of youngsters who should be integrated into the first-team.
