Chelsea loanee Davide Zappacosta has continued his fine goal-scoring form for Genoa, while playing as an inverted left wing back, with his latest exploits coming in the 2-0 win against Bologna yesterday.
After receiving a long pass from Milan Badelj near the edge of the opposition box in the 13th minute, Zappacosta drifted in, took aim, and fired a powerful shot that left little chance for the goalkeeper as it rocketed into the top corner once again. A goal out of nothing, and almost a carbon copy of his strike from a few days ago!
This was Zappacosta’s fourth goal of the season, which is a new career high. More importantly, the 28-year-old continues to play significant minutes for the mid-table Serie A side, having overcome injuries and a bout with the coronavirus at the start of the season, and hopefully his performances will attract lots of attention and suitors in the summer.
