Bristol Rovers are in a fairly precarious situation at the moment, sitting 21st in League One, just 1 point above the relegation zone. Such desperate times call for a hero. Enter Chelsea loanee Luke McCormick.
McCormick, who has three goals in his last two games, nabbed a brace against Doncaster rovers on Monday, leading his side to a 2-1 victory. His first goal, to get Rovers back on level terms, came in the 37th minute, with McCormick receiving the ball just inside the box, taking a touch across with his left foot, and unleashing a powerful shot into the back of the net with his right.
Getting us level in style!

His second goal came in the second half, in the 56th minute, from a similar range as his first. This time, he received a ball from his right and hit a first-time curling effort into the top corner. Zain Westbrooke collected the assist on both goals.
A worthy winner!

The 22-year-old McCormick has been just about ever-present for his team, and now has 6 goals and 2 assists across all competitions this season. He’s played just about every midfield position, though has been mostly deployed in the centre of the pitch by manager Joey Barton, who replaced Paul Tisdale in February.
McCormick’s performances will have no doubt made clubs in the higher divisions take notice, but for now, the focus is fully on avoiding relegation and keeping Rovers in the division.
