How should Chelsea line up against Real Madrid in Champions League semifinal?

It seems that every week brings a new “biggest” and “most important” match of the season for Chelsea, but that is precisely what we want to have happen at the end of every season. As head coach Thomas Tuchel said the other day, this is precisely why you sign up to play or coach at Chelsea, to test yourself against the best of the best and to compete for as many trophies as possible.

That this is the first ever meeting between these two sides in the Champions League, a competition we both were more than willing to quit and throw to the side just last week, only adds to the intrigue and the anticipation and the sense of occasion.

Unfortunately for us, former Real Madrid star Mateo Kovačić will miss this one, as Tuchel confirmed ahead of the weekend’s 1-0 win over West Ham. Kovačić is in the latter stages of recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up in training a couple weeks ago and should be back for the second leg.

Everyone else should be available for selection.

Choose wisely.
