Chelsea are one match away from returning to the FA Cup final and try to do one better than last year, but that one match is a rather difficult one, as it’s against the Premier League champions-elect.
Manchester City have practically ran away with the title this season, and even a relative blip recently, losing two of their last five league games, isn’t going to change that. City meanwhile have already won the League Cup and are very much on course to complete a quadruple, having also reached the semifinals of the Champions League, where they will take on PSG (while Chelsea take on Real Madrid in the other semifinal).
Both teams had midweek commitments along those lines but neither are likely to blow off this game as inconsequential. There is a place in the final on the line after all.
Mateo Kovačić being ruled out with a hamstring injury is a big blow for Chelsea, while some questions remain over Andreas Christensen’s fitness as well.
