Things could have turned tense for Chelsea FCW in their round of 16 second leg match against Atlético Madrid, as the Spaniards were given a penalty after a handball from Niamh Charles. However Toni Duggan’s spot kick attempt was too strong and hit the crossbar instead of the back of Ann-Katrin Berger’s net, with the loose ball turning into a Chelsea attack.
It was then time for Chelsea to be awarded a spot kick, after a handball from an Atlético Madrid defender. Maren Mjelde stepped up to the occasion and converted the chance, as is usual for the Chelsea centre-back.
