Robert Kenedy Nunes Nascimento just might be in the best form of his life, with the Chelsea loanee having already set a career high for goals scored earlier, and now reaching double figures in goal contributions for a season for the first time ever.
Two days shy of his 25th birthday, Kenedy got the party started on Saturday by scoring Granada’s first goal against Levante. It was his 6th goal of the season in all competitions, as he finished with aplomb into the far corner.
While Granada would have to settle for a last-gap 2-2 draw to stay within touching distance of the top-six in La Liga, Kenedy continues to be a key player for them with 28 appearances for the season already — matching his previous career high, which he set while on loan at Newcastle United.
The goal was also his second in just three days, having also scored against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal midweek. Granada brought the fight to the Catalan giants and were even able to force extra-time with a 3-3 draw at the end of regulation, before eventually getting overwhelmed and losing 5-3 in the end.
If Kenedy can continue his red-hot form, surely Granada will look to sign him permanently in the summer.
