In the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Tottenham, Thiago Silva was forced off with an apparent leg injury. This will be a worry for Chelsea, who have gotten wonderful defensive performances from the 36 year-old defender.
Under new Chelsea head coach, Thomas Tuchel, Thiago Silva has helped marshal Chelsea’s defense into superb form. With tonight’s victory, Chelsea have gone three straight matches earning a clean sheet — Andreas Christensen deputizing well enough in this case for the final 55 minutes.
In the post-match press conference, Tuchel intimated that he had not actually had enough time to debrief on the injury, but did give a worrisome vibe.
"It will be very tight for Sunday. It is only in two days but it is hard to give a diagnosis because I saw him only very quickly in the dressing room with a big strap around his muscle. We will have to wait until tomorrow so we can confirm it but I think for Sunday he is a big doubt and I don’t think that he can play.

Official details on the specifics of what caused Thiago Silva to come off are lacking at the moment. While unconfirmed from trusted club sources, he was favoring his right leg as he limped off, which could be either a quad (front) or hamstring (back of the thigh), or some other soft tissue injury. Either way, it's not something that bodes for an aging defender.
Thiago Silva #cfc was at his Rolls-Royce best, turning Son effortlessly, reading #thfc (minimal) danger, but now lying on the soaked soil, having injured his right thigh during an athletic clearance. Limps off, what a pity, Thiago a joy to watch. Replaced by Christensen. #TOTCHE
