Winter deadline day has been quieter than usual, and that was expected as the COVID crisis (and its economic consequences) rages on. But while Chelsea and other Premier League teams are not making first-team moves today either on arrivals or exits, that is not the case for our younger squads.
On that note, young centre-back Jack Wakely will have a new temporary home from today until the end of the 2020-21 by joining Brighton’s Under-23 squad.
✍ Defender Jack Wakely has signed for Albion on loan for the rest of the season from @ChelseaFC, and will join the club's under-23 side.

The 20-year old was brought to Chelsea’s U18 squad in the 2017-18 season, with 16 appearances made and four trophies lifted during the year under Jody Morris’ command. In January 2019 he would leave Cobham for the first time in his career to join Basingstoke, playing 15 times for the then Southern Football League team.
Since his return at the end of the 2018-19 season, he played 23 matches for the Blues in Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and the UEFA Youth League. Moving to Brighton’s U23, there is hope he can continue his development and maybe even vouch for a place in their first-team squad, depending on how successful he is in this new temporary stint.
Was on trial there in January, following a stint at Leicester. https://t.co/p7WTBLpqrG
