Pulisic, Kanté, Mount all called up for international duty despite recent injuries

The last international break of the calendar year begins after this weekend, and as usual, there will be plenty of Chelsea involvement in the various national teams playing various matches of varying levels of non-importance.

And unfortunately, it looks like three of our recently injured or absent players will be partaking as well, including Christian Pulisic with the US Men’s National Team, N’Golo Kanté with France, and Mason Mount with England.

In the latter’s case, it’s perhaps understandable as he’s been out due to illness rather a physical ailment. But N’Golo Kanté has been missing time for us due to muscle “tightness” (presumably caused by overload), while the last time we tried to use the international break to get Christian Pulisic back into match-playing shape, he returned injured (again). It sure feels like we’re just tempting fate once again, even if Pulisic, as the US Captain, would obviously want to participate in the rivalry qualifier against Mexico.

I guess we’ll just have to keep our fingers and toes crossed.
