Charly Musonda has apparently decided to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, clearing out his Instagram (classic Charly) and putting up a solitary video of him training at Cobham, with the caption “Free agent, June 2022”.
The post further explains that he’s enjoying his “final ride” at the club and getting ready for whatever’s next.
“Enjoying the final ride, while training and slowly getting ready for what lies ahead, with continued faith and optimism.”

Musonda has not played competitive football in well over two years as he’s been dealing with career-threatening knee injuries, though he has recently featured a couple times for the Chelsea U23s, the second of which came over a month ago, a full-90 against Blackburn U23s. He was not named in the matchday squad in any of the five subsequent games since however.
The former wunderkind, who arrived the same summer Chelsea signed Eden Hazard now nearly ten years ago, recently turned 25. It sounds like his time at Cobham will end after a decade; hopefully he gets the spend the next decade playing much more often, wherever he may land.
