How should Chelsea line up away to Malmö FF in Champions League group stage?

Six wins on the bounce for Chelsea, in all competitions, by a combined scoreline of 19-2, with only Southampton able to breach our defenses, one each in the two games against them. Among those six is a 4-0 home win against Malmö a fortnight ago; now we have to do it again away from home.

Making our task harder are the injuries that were picked up in that earlier game (Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku), as well as the additional concerns that have been added since, like Mateo Kovacic’s hamstring and Mason Mount’s (non-COVID) illness. Those four are all set to miss out on this trip.

There is some good news however with Christian Pulisic fit and available, perhaps not to start but certainly to travel and be in the matchday squad.

We have one more game after this before the next international break hopefully gives us a chance to improve the injury situation. We have a big squad, but there are limits to how much rotation we can handle and keep the performances going at such a high level.

Choose wisely.
