Usually we spent international breaks lamenting and worrying about new injuries picked up while away from the club, but this time, we have some good news instead. Chelsea have confirmed that N’Golo Kanté has completed his 10-day isolation period following his positive COVID-19 test, and has today returned to training.
Welcome back, N’Golo!
Kanté’s positive test created a bit more concern than these results normally do, considering his family health history and his own initial reluctance to return to playing last summer during Project Restart. Fortunately, it seems like he’s no worse for the wear, so hopefully he can use the next week or so to get back up to speed. While most of our midfielders have been playing well, we’re certainly going to need him if we are to challenge for the biggest trophies, as is our aim.
The Chelsea website and social media accounts have a few pictures from today’s training that feature Kanté, alongside the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Saúl, Ross Barkley, Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr, and a few youngsters. No sign of Christian Pulisic just yet however...
