While international breaks are usually a time for injury concerns, there’s been mostly good news at Chelsea in that regard recently (even with the minor overload concerns with Romelu Lukaku and Antonio Rüdiger, which forced them to miss their respective nationals teams’ second games).
Back at Cobham, N’Golo Kanté has emerged from isolation and re-joined training at the end of last week. He was back today as preparations began for the match against Brentford this Saturday, and he was joined by another returning player, Reece James! Here are a few pictures of said training session on the official Chelsea website.
James had missed our last two games after picking up an ankle injury in the loss to Manchester City. Initial prognostications feared the worst — high ankle sprains can mean months out, rather than just weeks — but it looks like the young full back will be able to return sooner rather than later! And that’s great news indeed as proper football and all the usual fixture congestion return in a few days.
P.S.: Still no Christian Pulisic.
