Conor Gallagher named Crystal Palace Player of the Month again

Might as well just call it the Conor Gallagher Award

It wouldn’t be a stretch to claim that Conor Gallagher has been Crystal Palace’s best player through the first two months of the season, and the club’s supporters certainly agree, once again overwhelmingly voting him their Player of the Month. Gallagher garnered 47 per cent of the vote for September, after an even more impressive 89 per cent for August.

The Chelsea loanee has played every single Premier League minute for Palace thus far — except for the ones against Chelsea, since he was ineligible — scoring a couple goals (no one on the team has more than that) and picking up several assists as well (the exact count depend on how you count penalties won).

“I’m so happy and thank the fans for voting. I’ll always work my hardest and think it’s been a good month for us, for the club. I felt like we’ve performed well as a team.

“I know I said it last month but I think a number of boys could have won the award. Hopefully we can build on our performances.”

Palace may be struggling a bit in terms of results, but perhaps they can keep riding Gallagher’s coattails to Premier League survival. And if Gallagher keeps this up, he would surely have earned a spot in the Chelsea midfield for next season as well!

Time for the folks at EA Sports to take notice, too.
