1. CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI (7.9)
Five of the past six Man of the Match awards have now gone to Chelsea Academy products (Hudson-Odoi 3x, Mount 1x, Abraham 1x), and it’s once again Hudson-Odoi who takes center stage, this time as a wing-back and perhaps poised for a Victor Moses-esque journey under Tuchel. The one thing that hopefully Tuchel will not change is our integration of the youth and the broken down barriers (when not in the grips of COVID-19 still) between the youth setup and the first-team.
2. MASON MOUNT (7.1, sub)
Mount dropped to the bench after ten (10!) straight starts, but Tuchel assured everyone afterwards that the kid who’s been arguably Chelsea’s Player of the Season So Far will see plenty of involvement going forward as well.
3. THIAGO SILVA (6.9)
The veteran center back (and his future) was supposedly one of the contentious issues between Tuchel and PSG director Leonardo last year, and thus part of what led to their fractured relationship. As fate would have it, Tuchel’s now been reunited with him. We’ve been seeing all season why this might have been a big deal for the former PSG coach, and it was no different in this one.
