Chelsea 3-1 Luton Town, Player Ratings: Ohhhh Tammy Tammy ... Tammy!

1. TAMMY ABRAHAM (8.7)

Appropriately enough, it were the Chelsea Academy boys led the day in what proved to be Frank Lampard’s final match in charge.

And what a great day it was for young Tammy Abraham, who scored all three goals for the second senior Chelsea hat-trick of his career. He’s now reached double-digits in goals in both seasons as the Chelsea No.9. He should be able to equal if not better last season’s total of 18 goals in all competitions. Can we get a 20?

2. CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI (7.9, sub)

Looking back, Lampard was a bit reluctant to use Hudson-Odoi as often as many would’ve liked, but the youngster has now featured in seven consecutive matches (three starts) and has made a positive impact in almost all of them.

Nearly two years on from his Achilles injury, he seems to have fully recovered now — major injuries often take that long — and can hopefully start taking steps towards the next level. Could Tuchel help unlock that potential?

3. BILLY GILMOUR (7.7)

If there is one youngster I fear for the most in terms of his current Chelsea involvement, it’s young Billy Gilmour, who’s always had Lampard’s favor, but now has to start over with the new man in charge.

With a week left in the transfer window and with even Lampard hinting that the loan-door is still slightly ajar, Gilmour could be collateral damage (especially as Tuchel’s said to rate Jorginho quite a bit).
