Chelsea FCW match against Bristol City postponed due to snow

Bad weather

Although it seems 2020 has not ended yet, we are already at the end of January 2021. And the coldest month of the year, combined with the United Kingdom’s proximity to the cold winds of the northern side of the globe, always brings out at least a few days of snow on each 365-day cycle.

This was the scene at Stamford Bridge a few minutes ago.

Now imagine much stronger downpouring taking place over hours on a pitch without heating. The result is what we see at Twerton Park in Bath, where Chelsea FCW would hold their match against Bristol City for the Women’s Super League today.

And so, we have yet another postponed match for the Blues in their schedule.

This will be the third postponement of a WSL match for Chelsea this season. It had already happened with our matches against Aston Villa away and Tottenham at home, which will be played on the 27th and 31st of this month, respectively.

At least this time, we can fault the weather and not COVID. Nevertheless, we will not have instant redemption in case of a bad result for the men today, so... here is hoping to for the best against Luton!
