WATCH: Kenedy destroys two defenders before a thunderous strike into the top corner

GOAL OF THE SEASON CONTENDER!!!

Chelsea loanee Kenedy, who’s plying his trade for (once again) surprisingly decent Granada in La Liga this season, has been mostly used as a substitute option off the bench, where the individual flair that we all saw earlier in his career makes him a dangerous option to turn the game. In fact, he’s featured in 15 out of the 19 league games for the Nazaríes, making him an important part of the squad.

The latest exhibit of his skills occurred Wednesday night, when Granada went on the road to face Villarreal. The home side had been in control of the match, approaching the final quarter of an hour with a 2-1 lead. But Kenedy, having come off the bench earlier in the half, had something different in mind. He cut inside from the right wing, sitting not one but two defenders down to contemplate their own humiliation as he blasted the ball into the top corner from 25 yards. Beautiful.

The game would finish 2-2, with Kenedy’s side, currently in 7th position, taking an important step towards again achieving Europa League qualification. Granada apparently have an option to sign Kenedy permanently, and if the 24-year-old can keep on delivering performances like these, there’s perhaps a good chance that they will exercise that option.
