The top end of the Premier League is still quite congested, but unfortunately we’re starting to fall a bit behind said congestion. There sure are a few too many teams above us in the table — eight (8!) to be exact — and all but one of them are at least three points ahead while the leaders, Manchester United, are now ten points ahead. The gap has slowly and surely grown and we must arrest the current slide immediately if we are to prevent getting entrenched in mid-table.
Fortunately, next up for us are one of the worst teams in the league. Fulham may be in decent form — five straight draws in fact, including yesterday against Spurs — but this is a game we must win regardless.
And there should be no excuses about fatigue or anything of the sort. All players should be available after Reece James and Andreas Christensen returned to training this week, with the exception of N’Golo Kanté, who’s suspended thanks to yellow card accumulation.
