After leaving Zenit St. Petersburg as a free agent earlier this summer, Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanović, 16th on our all-time appearances list, had been looking for a way to return to English football. And while the chance to join Everton and reunite with Carlo Ancelotti was denied to him, West Bromwich Albion were no fools to let the opportunity pass them by.
Welcome back to the Premier League, Bane!

The 36-year-old veteran defender has signed a one-year deal at the Hawthorns, but is ready to show that age is but a number and he’s still more than capable of playing at a top level.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world. I need to challenge myself and I am ready for the challenge. I am really happy to be back playing in the Premier League.
“I hope I am going to be successful here. I have a lot of ambition and I want to prove a lot of things. I will give everything for the team.”

Ivanović may not be the only Chelsea connection at Albion this season, with youngster Conor Gallagher also reportedly choosing West Bromwich as his next location. And we won’t have to wait too long to say hi, with West Brom coming up as Chelsea’s next away match in ten days.
But best of luck otherwise, Branislav!
