Three years, two Russian Premier League titles and one broken trophy after leaving Chelsea in 2017, Branislav Ivanović is ready to return to England — although not to Stamford Bridge.

According to Russian news outlet Championat, the ManBear is in talks with recently promoted side West Bromwich Albion, who are back in the top flight after a two-year absence. Currently under the guidance of Slaven Bilić, they see the 36-year old free agent as someone who can help shore up their defence and help them stay in the league.

West Brom were not Ivanović’s top priority after he let his Zenit contract expire at the end of the season. Initially, he showed interest in Everton, currently led by Carlo Ancelotti, who started Bane’s transformation from burly center back to marauding (and still burly) right back. However the Toffees were not interested, forcing the veteran to offer his skills elsewhere.

Luckily he was able to find interest at West Brom. While negotiations are still ongoing, this sounds like it could be happening soon. The season starts this weekend after all!

See you soon, legend?
