Willian made his departure from Chelsea official over the weekend, and today, his next move has become officially official as well.

The 32-year-old has signed with (Kia Joorabchian’s) Arsenal. The Gunners gave him what Chelsea did not: a three-year contract — with an option for a fourth and maybe even a wage rise!

Willian reportedly passed a medical on Tuesday, which showed no complications from his recent injury that had kept him out for the final few games of his Chelsea career.

It’s not the best outcome from our perspective — Willian’s certainly good enough to still to come back and haunt us — but it is at least somewhat amusing. After all, Spurs bought his flight to London in 2013, and now Willian will have played for both Chelsea and Arsenal without ever pulling on a Spurs shirt. Banterlicious.

Willian now gets to link up with good friend, teammate, and business partner David Luiz once again. The two veterans will try to help get Arsenal out of mid-table mediocrity, though in that pursuit we wish them no luck and may the football gods have mercy on their souls.

But we do thank Big Willi Style for all the good times. He may no longer see the light, but at least, he still hates Tottenham.
