Recent rumors had Danilo Pantić heading back to boyhood club FK Partizan on loan once again, but it is being reported now that the 23-year-old has actually signed with FK Čukarički in the Serbian SuperLiga instead.

According Sportski Žurnal, the young midfielder has agreed personal terms with the club — who are 6th in the league table — and now all that is missing is the trivial formality of some paperwork from Chelsea. The report isn’t quite clear whether this is a loan or a transfer, but other reports have it down as a temporary move only for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

This comes amid the backdrop of Pantić rejecting a contract extension from Chelsea, and even asking Chelsea to release him from his contract which expires in 2021. The latter was always unlikely to happen, so whether Pantić had a change of heart or whether he has actually moved on permanently can only be ascertained after the transfer is officially announced.

In either case, all the best, Danilo!
