After a monthlong vacation, Timo Werner has arrived in London! Chelsea’s latest signing was in attendance on Sunday at Stamford Bridge as the Blues beat Wolverhampton Wanderers to secure Champions League football for next season as well, which will have surely made Timo happy.
On Monday, the 24-year-old pulled on the Blue shirt for the first time and headed out on the training pitch at Cobham for an individual session. Chelsea are presumably following a similar plan with Werner as we did for the integration of Hakim Ziyech, starting off with a few individual session before including him with the rest of the first-team group. Like Ziyech, Werner won’t actually be eligible to play for Chelsea until next season, which is set to start in mid-September.
So we have to wait a bit longer for Timo Time, but now that we’ve achieved the minimum set of expectations for the season, and we may yet even win a trophy, that waiting shouldn’t be too hard.
Welcome, Timo!
