The fate of Chelsea’s season has come down to the final two weekends and the final two games, one each in the Premier League (Sunday) and in the FA Cup (next Saturday).
Wins in both would get us a figurative trophy with a top four finish and Champions League qualification as well as a very real trophy with the FA Cup.
But there’s also the very real possibility that we lose both games and end up with nothing but a sixth fifth place finish (well, Europa League, which no one wants).
To finish top four, Chelsea don’t actually need to win on Sunday. A draw would be enough. In fact, just one point from our last two games would’ve been enough, but we threw away one good chance to do so on Wednesday at Anfield. So now it’s down to the final game.
It’s a big enough occasion that even N’Golo Kanté might be risked!
If we could keep a clean sheet, we’d be golden. But we probably can’t.
