With Kai Havertz getting closer and closer to signing for Chelsea with each passing day, Bayer Leverkusen will need to sign someone to try to replace the talented youngster. And as it happens, the stars may be aligning for them to sign a perfect replacement.

According to Goal, Real Madrid are willing to let Reinier leave on loan for a season-long stint with the Bundesliga club. Talks have already started for the 18-year-old and Real Madrid are hoping that the Bundesliga would be the perfect place for him to continue his development. Leverkusen are also set to compete in next season’s UEFA Europa League, which would test his mettle in a continental competition as well.

Reinier, who was once linked with Chelsea, has not featured for the first-team since joining in January, and made just three appearances for the B-team before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the third division’s season. Continuing his development in Germany just might be the thing he needs.

From Chelsea’s perspective, this is another possible indication that Kai Havertz is on his way to London, so hopefully, we will see a resolution on that matter soon.
