Chelsea fans’ preferred lineup against West Ham: Tammy Abraham to lead the line as Jorginho returns

West Ham vs. Chelsea, Premier League: Preferred lineup

After a tough win against Leicester City in the FA Cup quarterfinals, it’s back to Premier League action for Chelsea as we travel across London to West Ham. David Moyes’ Hammers haven’t been enjoying themselves very much since the Restart, but should never be underestimated in their fight to avoid relegation.

The 4-3-3 remains the favoured formation by the WAGNH community and there’s nothing the 4-2-3-1 (21%) can do about it.

Kepa Arrizabalaga unsurprisingly returns in goal though the veteran Willy Caballero (2%) did record a clean sheet to his credit on Sunday in the FA Cup.

The same centre-backs start as against Leicester, in Antonio Rüdiger and Kurt Zouma, while both fullbacks are rotated, with Emerson (5%) and Reece James (20%) making way for Marcos Alonso and César Azpilicueta, respectively. Andreas Christensen’s (35%) knock will have put a lot of people off from picking him.

With Mason Mount moving to the wing here, a trio of N’Golo Kanté, Mateo Kovačić and a returning Jorginho are favoured. It’s worth noting that it was a close call as golden boy Ross Barkley (47%) just barely misses out. Ruben Loftus-Cheek (31%) and Billy Gilmour (5%) aren’t deemed ready to start again just yet.

Tammy Abraham is once again preferred ahead of Olivier Giroud (44%) while Willian and the aforementioned Mount complete the attacking band. It was somewhat surprising that Pedro (32%) received so few votes given that Christian Pulisic (40%) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (7%) presumably won’t be fit enough to play from the start.

4-3-3 (76%):
Arrizabalaga (98%) | Alonso (85%), Zouma (73%), Rüdiger (91%), Azpilicueta (92%) | Kovačić (85%), Jorginho (48%), Kanté (69%) | Mount (64%), Abraham (57%), Willian (75%)

I’m hoping that Christensen is fit enough to slot straight back into our defense as his ability on the ball will be important to help the team break down a probably deep-lying West Ham. If Pulisic isn’t fit, then I’d go with Pedro and Willian on the wings, with Mount dropping into the three man midfield.

Ross Barkley off the bench as always to drop a masterclass. I’ve got it all planned out!

Arrizabalaga | Azpilicueta, Rüdiger, Christensen, James | Kovačić, Kanté, Mount | Willian, Giroud, Pedro
