PICTURES: Chelsea beat QPR 7-1 in latest friendly

QPhahahahaha

Chelsea beat Queens Park Rangers 7-1 in friendly at Cobham on Sunday afternoon, and while we once again have to wait a while for actual video highlights, let alone a live stream — come on, Chelsea TV, get it together! — we do have a few pictures of what sure sounds like an amusing scoreline against our occasional West London rivals (on the rare occasions we’re in the same division).

Two goals each from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who’s been in great goalscoring form in the three friendlies so far, and Billy Gilmour, who ran the Chelsea midfield before the pandemic, highlighted the seven-goal outburst. Mason Mount, Willian, and Olivier Giroud were also on the scoresheet. Tammy did not score but did play. Judging by the available pictures, the same can’t be said for Michy Batshuayi as yet another nail is hammered into his Chelsea-career-coffin.

N’Golo Kanté started, while the game also saw the return to action of Reece James, who had been dealing with a slight knock. Similarly sidelined Callum Hudson-Odoi did not feature.

On the other side, we welcomed back former youth and reserves captain Todd Kane, who had joined QPR last summer after nearly two decades at Chelsea from age 7. Toddy!
