Good to see the boys are back in action

Chelsea are (hopefully) on the way to some level of reasonable fitness before our first Premier League Restart match on June 21st against Aston Villa, with two matches under the players’ belts this week, including an intra-squad scrimmage and a friendly against Reading. Highlights of the latter, a 1-0 win, are now available.

The match against Villa will be Chelsea's first official match in more than three months. The last time the Blues stepped on the pitch was our 4-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge in early March. Hence, it makes sense to play a few friendlies — almost like a preseason — to try to get back into shape.

Coincidentally, one of those who scored against Everton was the man who grabbed Chelsea's winner in this friendly. Pedro looked sharp throughout the game, twisting and turning and always keeping Reading defenders on their toes before scoring a wonderful curler from outside the box with his left foot. Classic Pedro!

Chelsea had quite a few chances, especially in the first half, but as has been the case far too many times this season, we struggled to make them count. Thanks for keeping things familiar, boys!
