It would appear that Olympique Lyonnais have decided to go in a different direction than hiring Christophe Lollichon to fill their goalkeeper coach vacancy. According to L’Equipe, it’s another former Stade Rennais coach, Christophe Revel, who is the chosen one instead.
Lollichon had reportedly interviewed for the position alongside Revel and a couple other candidates, but Lyon have decided to go with the latter to replace Grégory Coupet, who had suddenly left to take a job with Dijon FCO. Revel had recently started working with the Morocco national football team (possibly in addition to his current job at FC Lorient), but his contract there has been bought out.
So with that, it looks like Lollichon will remain at Chelsea, and continue working in his largely administrative capacity with Chelsea’s loan goalkeepers. There are no changes expected in Chelsea’s coaching setup at the moment — Henrique Hilário finishing his first season as the main goalkeeper coach — though there’s always a strong chance that the Shay Given rumors will re-emerge now that both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero are set to stay.
