Hakim Ziyech, the “Wizard of AMS” who made his return last night after a brief injury layoff, has 138 days left at Ajax Amsterdam and he intends to make all of them count.

Taking to Instagram after his summer transfer to Chelsea was confirmed and announced officially, the 26-year-old playmaker wrote that he is “very happy” with his impending move, but that he has “unfinished business to handle” first with Ajax.

That will include defending the Eredivise title, which Ajax won for the first time in five years last season — an almost unfathomable gap for the Dutch giants — and looking to conquer the Europa League as well after Ajax surprisingly finished third in our Champions League group. (Like Chelsea in 2012-13, they dropped into the Europa League despite collecting 10 points in the group stage.) Those competitive reasons were reportedly why Ajax knocked back Chelsea’s bid last month as well.

Overall, it’s a similar situation to Christian Pulisic’s with Borussia Dortmund last season, with the only difference being that instead of signing and loaning him back in January, we’ve just delayed the signing to the summer (which we could do now without a transfer ban).

In any case, best of luck to Hakim and Ajax. (Please don’t get hurt!)
