There are few who’d deny that at what Reece James does, he is the best, for his talents are renowned far and wide.
Which is why the following story from The Athletic’s Simon Johnson is every bit as scary as can be. Our very own nightmare before Christmas, and we’re not talking Halloween. Bah, humbug.
Reece James has apparently underwent a scan for a potential knee injury on Saturday, and that makes him not only a “major doubt” for Monday night’s clash against West Ham United, but could potentially rule him out for months depending on the severity of the problem — the results of the scan and any subsequent action that may be required should be known within the next 24-48 hours.
Exclusive: Reece James went for a scan today and may need an operation. I've also provided an update on the chances of Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi playing for #CFC against #WHUFC. Full story here:https://t.co/o3NDmt6fuI

As per the report, James has been “dealing with the issue” since last week, but it was deemed “very minor” at first, so he played against both Everton and Wolves. Unfortunately, as it so often happens when playing in such circumstances, minor injuries become major injuries, and on Saturday, the 21-year-old “felt greater pain and fluid in his knee during training”.
Yikes.
