Chelsea have repeatedly braved the odds in the past, and kept hold of Callum Hudson-Odoi despite interest from major clubs, most notably Bayern Munich, and it looks set to stay that way in the upcoming winter transfer window as well.
According to the Athletic, Chelsea will ignore any offers to buy or even loan CHO when the transfer window opens in January. Along with Chelsea’s belief in the 20-year-old’s potential, letting him go would also leave Frank Lampard with a shortage of wingers — a problem that we have become all too familiar with in recent weeks.
Hudson-Odoi has seriously considered going out on loan in the new year according to the report, after playing just 139 minutes in the first 7 games across the Premier League and the Champions League this season, but has slowly come back into contention after a string of good performances. He’s out injured at the moment, but it’s almost certain that he will come back into the playing XI contention once he gets fit, especially since Ziyech is out injured as well, and Werner looking terribly fatigued in every match as of late.
Bayern Munich have almost always remained at the forefront of the line to get to CHO’s signature should he decide to leave his boyhood club, but will apparently not be making a move for him this January as per Goal.
While Hudson-Odoi is indeed a long-term for the Bavarians, they’re not looking to make any big moves next month, and will instead keep faith with Douglas Costa, who is on loan from Juventus, although they do plan on revisiting the situation in the future.
This should give us all the time to prove to Callum that he is an integral part of our plans, and end this silly saga once and for all.
Bayern Munich pause Hudson-Odoi chase but Chelsea have other players they want out in January.
