Before Saturday’s game, young left back Ben Chilwell talked about how he was seeing the same sort of confidence growing in this Chelsea squad as he did half a decade ago at Leicester City. Leicester would lose just three times that season on their way to a most unlikely Premier League title. After yesterday, Chelsea are now up to two losses for the season.
More pertinently, that budding confidence is sure to take a hit as well, especially with the team falling into some terrible old habits in both attack and defense. And while there is plenty to learn from defeat, the biggest challenge is to respond properly on the pitch.
Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long to be able to do that. We take to the road again on Tuesday. For Chilwell and the rest, it’s a chance to do (much) better.
“...we were unbeaten for however many games, with the squad we have we want to win every match but we know the reality of it is that we are not going to win every match.
‘It is how we react now. We have to react on Tuesday away at Wolves and the next few days we will recover and pick ourselves up.”

Depending on other results, Chelsea may have lost a bit of ground in the earl-season title-fight. Now we have to make sure we only lose this bit of ground.
