Tammy Abraham has appeared in all but one of Chelsea’s games this season, the very first match of the season in fact, which means that he has the longest active appearance-streak on the team at twelve. However, exactly half of those dozen appearances have come from the bench, which isn’t exactly what any player would ideally want.
But Tammy has now started three matches in a row, scoring in each of the last two, and being credited with an assist in each of the two matches before then — Chelsea winning all four. Meanwhile, he’s also showing increasingly solid link-up with his fellow attackers, like Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
It’s all looking good for Chelsea at the moment, including in attack, with 14 goals scored in the last four. Abraham’s chuffed to have played a key role in that run.
“I am over the moon to be back in the team. I am playing with great players and the new signings have been a breath of fresh air. We are starting to understand how each other plays and we are getting results. [...] We have self-belief now, the belief is back, the confidence is back and we hope we can keep it going.”

Goals lead to wins, wins lead to confidence, confidence leads to more goals and wins. And happiness. It’s a simple calculus.
Of course, you can’t just snap your fingers. But Tammy’s putting in the hard work, and we’re seeing its benefits on the pitch and on the scoreboard. Long may that last!
