Chelsea begin the second half of our Champions League group stage campaign tomorrow, as we make the short trip to Rennes in the northwest of France for the away leg of the Mendy Derby. The Blues collected seven points from the first three games, to sit joint-top of the group with Sevilla, with whom we drew at Stamford Bridge. They play Krasnodar, and if both of us win, both of us will have qualified for the knockout rounds with two games to spare.
With a full three days since our lunchtime game at Newcastle on Saturday and four full days to our next match, Sunday against Spurs, we should be able to field as strong of a lineup as we possibly can to ensure that we do get all three points indeed.
To help us in that regard, both Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz will be available, though the latter may not yet have enough match fitness to start. Christian Pulisic will stay behind to keep working on his hamstring. Lampard’s hoping to have him back by the weekend.
