Welcome to the Premier League, Hakim Ziyech. When he signed in early February, I’m not sure any one of us would’ve expected to have to wait until Halloween for him to make his first Premier League start, but that’s 2020 for ya. Fortunately, it was well worth the wait, and hopefully this is just the start of a wonderful Blues career for the Wizard of AMS SW6.

2. N’GOLO KANTE (8.2)

Here’s a somewhat shocking stat for anyone who’s been paying attention to these player ratings exercises since 2016. This is only Kante’s second (!) appearance in the top three in ten appearances on the season, which is a shockingly low ratio for the world’s most adorable midfielder. Fortunately, if this game’s any indication, the reports of Kante’s impending demise have been greatly exaggerated. Base of a midfield triangle was not his best position before, but it just may be now.

The first time Thiago Silva wore the armband, it was a bit of a disaster for him personally and for the team as well. But that 3-3 draw against West Brom, which featured a massive error from the veteran center back as well, has been the only blip so far in his Chelsea career. In fact, we’ve kept a clean sheet in each of his five other starts, including this one, wherein he wore the armband for the second time.

POOR (5.0-5.9): Jorginho (5.9, sub)

BAD (4.0-4.9): —
