Christian Pulisic is heading back to Chelsea after briefly joining the USMNT training camp in Cardiff, ahead of their friendly against Wales tomorrow. Since Pulisic was never going to be able to actually take part in that game due to the hamstring injury he suffered ten days ago, he’s now coming back to continue his rehab at Cobham. And rightly so.
It was already a questionable move to join up with the national team, but it sounds like he never got up to anything more strenuous than some meet-and-greets. A bit of face time can be important, as we’ve come to know in this Zoom video chat era.
“Christian Pulisic is leaving camp. He had a great three or four days with the team. He was able to get treatment and be with the guys, connect with the staff again. It was great to see him.
“Unfortunately he won’t be taking part in the match. He is a player we are certainly going to miss and with his quality we wish we could have him on the field, but that is not going to happen.”

Pulisic has another ten days to try to get over this latest problem. He’s only been able to play in about half of our games this season, after missing a solid chunk of games last season as well.
Get well soon, Christian!
