Bayern Munich made a concerted effort to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi late in the transfer window and even made a not-so-subtle public announcement of their pursuit, but the mighty German club’s ambitions have been thwarted once again, it would appear.
Chelsea have already rejected one bid from Die Roten, and according to Fabrizio Romano as well as Sport BILD, the reigning Bundesliga champions have admitted defeat in their attempts to sign the Chelsea Academy crown jewel, and will now move on to other targets.

This is the second transfer window that Chelsea have managed to hold on to the teenager, with the Bayern making a protracted attempt back in January 2019 as well. Hudson-Odoi’s contract situation was much more precarious back then, but now the 19-year-old has four years remaining on his contract as well as a desire to continue under Super Frank Lampard, so there was only one possible outcome to this chase.
Bayern will most likely come back for the England international in the future, but for now, they will have to contend themselves with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Good.
Both Chelsea and Bayern München considering Callum Hudson-Odoi deal OFF. No agreement on loan with buy option, the player doesn’t want to leave, Lampard counts on him. Confirmed. He’s staying. #CFC#Bayern are now closing on Bouna Sarr from OM, and Marc Roca is coming.
