If, like me, you are outraged by the shameful £14.95 fee currently charged for Premier League PPV games, and are not planning to spend good money watching Saturday’s game at Burnley on PPV, here’s how you can put the money saved to excellent use.
Across the Premier League, supporters trusts and other supporter groups have been asking supporters to donate the £14.95 PPV fee to their local foodbank. It is a great shame that in 2020 foodbanks are necessary, but they are, and the devastating impact of COVID-19 on many individuals and families has made their work more important than ever.
For more than three years, the Chelsea Supporters Trust have supported the local Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank with collections at many home games. The collection point, which is set up opposite Fulham Broadway station, is visited before matches by many supporters, donating food or money. Our absence doesn’t mean that Chelsea fans can’t continue to make a difference, and on Saturday it would be great if you could join other Chelsea supporters in donating £14.95 to them.
You can donate directly to them from your bank account:
Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank
Acc No: 65599750
Sort Code: 08-92-99
Please mention Chelsea in the donation so the people at the foodbank know where it’s coming from. We’ve already had some incredibly generous donations so please help if you can.
