1. ÉDOUARD MENDY (8.8)
Back-to-back Man of the Match awards for Mendy, who’s quickly proving not only a needed signing but an astute and high quality one as well. He wasn’t called into action too often, but when he was, he made the save, or caught the ball, which gives confidence to everyone else. Big saves in big moments a big goalkeeper makes, and Mendy’s well on his way to proving a crucial signing, who’s saved us a couple big points already.
2. THIAGO SILVA (8.1)
Silva’s also quickly proven to be an astute acquisition this summer, injecting a much needed sense of calm and composure, not to mention quality, into the backline, West Brom game notwithstanding.
3. REECE JAMES (7.7)
Chelsea’s back five all had good games — they are in fact the next five in the ratings after Mendy — and that includes the youngest of the quintet as well.
