Chelsea persona non grata Thibaut Courtois earns some brownie points back by trolling Spurs

Never not a good time to poke fun at Spurs

Thibaut Courtois made a lot of saves and won a lot of things in his four seasons at Stamford Bridge (two leagues, two cups), but his exit was rather acrimonious, to say the least. And while not necessarily his fault, the knock-on effect of his heel-turn and sudden departure in 2018 is something we’re still very much dealing with at the club.

So while Courtoisssssss might not be welcomed back with open arms for a good while yet, he did managed to earn some brownie points back this week by trolling Spurs. Never one to shy away from the microphones, Courtois took the opportunity when asked a useless question about Gareth Bale’s return to the Premier League to poke fun at Chelsea’s rivals.

“I had a good relationship with Gareth and I wish him the best of luck this year, even if he’s not playing for the good London team. He is a great player.”
