We interrupt your regularly scheduled transfer rumors for a brief detour into the actual football. After a 10-day break from the Premier League, Chelsea’s resume the campaign with a home game against Burnley. This, like many others recently, should be a relatively easy home win, but those have been few and far between for us.
Last weekend did see a pretty straightforward triumph over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, so maybe we can build on that? Lampard rotated the majority of the team, handing out overdue rests, so everyone should be about as fit as they can be at this stage of the season.
There are two injury concerns that we know of, Marcos Alonso, who’s missed the last few games with a glute muscle injury, and Christian Pulisic, who’s been dealing with minor problems off and on recently. He missed last weekend’s match with an unspecified ailment. It’s unclear how fit and available either of them might be for this weekend; hopefully Lampard can shed some light on it tomorrow, in his pre-match press conference.
Until then, choose wisely.
