According to a report from London Evening Standard, Championship club Bristol City are interested in adding Chelsea defender/midfielder Ethan Ampadu to their squad on a loan deal this winter.
For this to happen, they might have a few mountains to climb. The first one is convincing Chelsea that he would be best suited to play at the Championship at this point of his career. Such an argument would have to be strong enough to have the Blues recall Ampadu from RB Leipzig, whom have already voiced their desire to retain the Wales international until the end of the season back in November last year.
Although Ampadu has not had the best of times in Germany, with only five appearances made across all competitions ever since his move to Leipzig, it might not be worth our trouble to recall him from his current stint and then send him straight to the Championship — especially in the last days of the winter transfer window.
