Lampard confident ‘under pressure’ Kepa will improve to fix mistakes

Pressure!

Pushing down on me. Pushing down on you. No man ask for! It puts people on streets! These are the days it never rains, but it pours, right, Kepa?

“Well he will have to deal with [being under pressure]. That is what football is, every player no matter great you are in your career, the best, the absolute best of all time will get criticised and you have to deal with it. Goalkeepers maybe slightly more spotlight on them, but it is a similar thing, really.

Or as the stolen bass-line said, you just gotta have ice ice, baby ... in your veins.

So while Lampard admits that he’s well aware of the angry mob outside of Kepa’s (poorly defended) gates, he’s not going to do anything too reactionary, like hang him out to dry as the sacrificial lamb. Certainly not at the moment.

Depending on how the rest of the season unfolds, we’ll probably revisit this situation in the summer. Until then, the best we can do is to support the team in all the players’ efforts to improve.
