Chelsea injury woes continue as Emerson and Christensen hobble off against Liverpool

Why is our luck so bad

Chelsea might as well be renamed Injury FC, having turned into an injury magnet since the end of the last season. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N'Golo Kante, Emerson, Pedro, Willian and Marco van Ginkel have all been injured at some point or together.

In defence, the issues have been even more dire as Antonio Rudiger and Reece James have been both been out for months, since the start of the summer. David Luiz's departure to Arsenal has added to the shortage of numbers as well.

Unfortunately, against Liverpool, the situation became even worse as Emerson and Andreas Christensen both hobbled off the pitch due to injuries in the first half alone!

Emerson had just returned from injury, which raises questions about whether he was truly fit to start. Christensen, who had been one of the few to avoid any injuries recently, arguably looked worse of the two, a result of a collision between him and Fikayo Tomori as they were trying to block a Salah.

And so, it continues. Hopefully the injuries are not too bad or the Blues could be in real trouble.
