After a day off on Wednesday, Chelsea were back at Cobham on Thursday to begin preparations for Sunday’s showdown against Liverpool. With both teams coming off of disappointing Champions League losses on Tuesday, especially Chelsea at home against Valencia, both will be looking to collect a massive three points at Stamford Bridge.
For Chelsea, there was some good news on the training ground in addition to Callum Hudson-Odoi’s contract announcement, as recently injured Emerson returned, joining N’Golo Kante, Reece James, and the aforementioned Hudson-Odoi. How close any of the five may be to playing is unknown at this point, but hopefully Lampard will have some good news in Friday’s press conference.
The only confirmed absentee on Thursday was Antonio Rudiger, while youngsters Billy Gilmour and Ian Maatsen both joined.
Some more good news while I’m at it... Emerson, James, Maatsen, Kante, Gilmour and Hudson-Odoi involved in training today. Sadly no Rüdiger #CFC

Mason Mount was also present, but he was working separately with the physios. Presumably, he will not be quite fit for Sunday, but shouldn’t be out too long with his ankle injury.
In other good news for Chelsea fans, Mount trained today.

It was with fitness staff rather than the group and Liverpool on Sunday still looks like a tall order, but it’s another sign that he won’t be out for too long https://t.co/rmKsR1tphV #cfc
