We’ve been convinced for a fair while now that Callum Hudson-Odoi is signing a new long-term deal with Chelsea, but despite the multiple reports and rumors, this saga has dragged on for months and months and months — and yet here we are in September still awaiting for an official announcement.
Today, whispers have grown louder (once again) that Hudson-Odoi’s new contract is signed and sealed with only the official club announcement needing to be delivered. This is exactly what we’ve been hearing since the summer. This time it’s Sky who are the bearers of the good “news”.

The saga has been long and silly enough that even Hudson-Odoi’s own teammates have been getting antsy. Fellow Academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah has been regularly leaving “SIGN IT” comments on Hudson-Odoi’s Instagram posts, while yesterday, even backup goalkeeper Willy Caballero has gotten in on the act. Maybe Willy himself dragged the 18-year-old to the signing table?
Great work, Wilfredo!
