Community player ratings from Chelsea’s defeat against Valencia, plus the Blues’ 5-2 win over Wolves

1. FIKAYO TOMORI (7.1)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 97
Passes: 77/85
Shots: 0/1
Tackles+INTs+Blocks: 3+1+2
Aerial duels won: 3

Three starts on the bounce for Tomori now, and he was once again very good. There’s room for improvement, especially at this early age, of course, but his recovery speed will get him (and the team) out of many a sticky situation. He also “won” the penalty by heading down from a corner as you’re thought. Considering how surprisingly bad Zouma and Christensen are at scoring, it might be up to Tomori to carry on that club tradition of goals from center backs as well.

2. WILLIAN (6.7)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 62
Passes: 22/29
Shots: 1/4
Take-ons: 9/12
Fouls drawn: 2
Tackles+Blocks: 2+1

Don’t look now but Willian’s keeping Christian Pulisic (and Pedro, too) out of the team with back-to-back starts, garnering post-match praise from his manager both times. He’s no Eden Hazard, though given how Chelsea’s former No.10 has started the season down in sunny Spain, that’s a good thing.

3. ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN (6.6)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 71
Passes: 63/66
Shots: 0/1
Clearances: 4
Aerial duels won: 2

With attentions focused elsewhere in the squad, Christensen has put together a consistently solid start to the season.
